Writers, Authors and Genres

Similarities: Writers are more of a daily thing compared to authors which can be prolonged.
Differences: Different types of writings is where we differ. The types of publications and what is classified as what is blurred.

Writers:                                                                       Authors
Daily Job
Hobby
Active
Prolonged
Journalism
Novels
More Opinionated
Cautious
Dispersed Area of Coverage
Specific Genre

Types of Writing:                                                     Why I enjoy/hate them
Finals/Essays
Can be boring, depending on the topic and extremely stressful.
Poetry
When it comes to simple poetry that’s fine but as it progresses in difficulty it becomes a task and frustrating to me.
Fiction
I enjoy doing this because I can be creative and have happen what I want to happen, there isn’t really a limitation to it.

Short Story to Friend:
It was the middle of November of 2015. A homeowner was planning a party for him and friends for the holidays. His dilemma though was how to carry out doing the party and getting what was needed. Ah of course, he can contact his best friend. His friend had to drive him to the store in order to get supplies, since the friends’ car was much larger than the homeowners’ sports car. On the way there though a hawk flew into the car and attacked the homeowner and for some unknown reason took his wallet. Since he now didn’t have the money for the supplies the friend had to pick up the bill and ended up lending him some money. The friend took the homeowner home and dropped him off. Alas, the homeowner wasn’t able to set-up everything on his own. He was too short for some things like the putting up party streamers. Reluctantly the friend assisted in the set-up but was also tasked with something else, spreading the word about the party amongst their friends. After the set-up was done the friend then drove to his home and sent out an email, text message and created a short video for the party. Later that night many friends showed up and the party was a success.
Disadvantages of the Short Story: Distracts from the main points.

Haiku Poem Genre:
Drive me to the store
Bring me money; advertise too
Help setup mostly
Disadvantages of Poem: Very Brief, may not convey all of what is needed clearly enough.

Type of Genre (Text Message):
Hey man, I need help setting the place up. But we have to get food and drinks.
Meet me at 2 pm at my house so we can drive to the store.
I also need you to pitch in some cash for this.
Lastly can you spread the word about the party? Thanks.
Disadvantages of Text: Could be an inconvenience, may not get the message it.

Everyone's an Author: Is Everyone Really an Author?

To the question of, "Is Everyone an Author?" Yes everyone is an author in one way or another. However whether or not one realizes that they can be/are an author is a totally different story. In today's day and age you can easily be an author but as the book "Is Everyone an Author" mentions the line between Author and Writer is blurred in this day and age. Since anyone can write now days, whether it be in a blog, a short story or a post technically it's all writing hence why the line between author and writer is blurred as much as it is. The book also mentions that the internet is so powerful that what you write or post or share can circulate the globe faster than you can imagine. Today we have access to so much information at our fingertips it's constantly changing the way we learn about the world. So to me I believe that everyone can be an author. The question then becomes whether or not that the person has the audacity to pursuit that position. To me the difference between a writer and a author is a writer is someone who treats it as a job and it's pretty daily  while an author uses it only occasionally and doesn't do it extremely often.

The Matrix of writing!

What is writing?

Writing is a written version of your expressions. It’s one of the many things that is able to express your individuality. However it’s one of the outlets that’s able to express description more thoroughly in description than others. If you don’t quite understand let me explain. I’m sure we all have our favorite book series and how well they speak to us. Well, there have been many good book series that have been transformed into movies sadly and sometimes disappointingly they aren't able to capture nearly as much as the book/s.

What types of writing do you do?

I have done types of writing such as creative, expository, persuasive and narrative. More so expository and persuasive have been prevalent during my time. Creative and narrative writing were limited in the amount of times they were able to be expressed.

How does your persona shift per audience?

Our tone changes from situation to situation depending on the people and circumstance as it applies to them. There are many reasons as to why but the main reasoning is due to how well you know a person. Your friends, they’re your friends, you've known them for a good deal of time. However If you’re applying for a job you’re going to be very businesslike because you’re applying for a position to company in which you don’t know the people at all.

All about Mr_Z

Early Childhood:

I was born in Bremerton, Washington at Harrison Hospital. My life began as any other newborn. Loud, obnoxious, cute and never allowing my parents to rest. At the age of 6 months my parents decided to move to Tucson, Arizona. That was short lived however, being that it was too hot for them and myself.

Toddler Age:

It sad but my parents divorced at the age of three. Of course I didn't know what was going on and why I was having to go back and forth between houses but I eventually accepted it as normal. My father lived in Tracyton, Washington while my mother lived in Bremerton. I went to Peace Lutheran Private School for the first 6 years of my life eventually moving to Poulsbo.

Preteen and Teenage Years:

I went to Poulsbo Middle School and that's where I had my vision of a future job develop. I took shop classes with an undisclosed teacher for two years while I was there and then moved on to North Kitsap High School. At the high school I began to realize more and more what job position I wanted to go into, Mechanical Engineering. Over the next four years I pursued that dream job by taking many engineering classes at North Kitsap, Engineering 1-4, developing my familiarity with different tools, techniques and software.

College:

I currently attend Olympic College and I'm still persuing my Mechanical Engineering degree.
